CHOOSE TO ROCK RED LIPS:

There is no better time of year than now for wearing red lip color. And not only a red lip color that works for your skin depth and skin’s undertone(s) but one with a sheen or gloss, as all that shines adds the right touch of glamour throughout the season -
from a true red with a little gold glimmer, if you have a warm skin tone, silver glimmer if you have a cool skin tone, or either or a mix of both if your skin tone is neutral, to deep, glossy reds. CHOOSE A NATURAL-LOOKING BLUSH COLOR:

Cool winter air causes the skin to flush naturally, so wear only enough blush to add a touch of “glow” to the skin.

The secret to choosing a natural-looking blush color is choosing a blush product that’s the same color your cheeks turn when blood rushes to them when you’re flushed. NOTE: Once you find your perfect blush color, you can use it with all of your makeup looks. To find your perfect blush color:

OPTION 1:

STEP 1: Pinch your cheeks in plenty of natural daylight.
STEP 2: Look in the mirror at your flushed cheeks.

STEP 3: The color of your flushed cheeks is the color of blush you should choose.

STEP 4: Hold various blush products next to your skin and look into a mirror.

STEP 5: Choose the one that matches your flushed cheeks.

OPTION 2:
If you don’t want to pinch your cheeks to find your perfect blush color, you can:

STEP 1: Squeeze the tip of any of your fingers until the tip turns a pink/red color.

STEP 2: Look at the color of the end of your finger.

STEP 3: The color of the end of your squeezed finger is the color of blush you should choose.
STEP 4: Hold various blush products next to your squeezed finger.
STEP 5: Choose the one that matches the color of the tip of your squeezed finger.

OPTION 3:
If you’re testing liquid or gel blush products:
STEP 1: Place a little of the liquid or gel blush product onto the tip of your finger.

STEP 2: Blend it so there are no lines of demarcation.

STEP 3: Squeeze the tip of a different finger.

STEP 4: Hold the finger with the blush on it next to the squeezed finger.

STEP 5: If the two match, then that blush color is perfect for you.

NOTE: If the two colors don’t match, try another liquid or gel blush product on another finger, and repeat STEPS 2-5.

OPTION 4:
Besides OPTIONS 1-3, use your skin’s depth of color and undertone(s) to choose your perfect blush color:
1: If you have a warm skin tone, choose a blush color that’s predominately peach, golden, or terra-cotta in color.
2: If you have a neutral skin tone, choose a blush color that’s a mix of both pink/red and peach/gold.
3: If you have a cool skin tone, choose a blush color that’s predominately pink or red.

NOTE: Choose a blush color that’s not lighter nor darker than your skin tone, but one that closely matches your skin’s depth of color.

LIGHT/PALE SKIN TONES WITH A YELLOW UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as soft coral and peach.

LIGHT/PALE SKIN TONES WITH A NEUTRAL UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as peachy-pink.

LIGHT/PALE SKIN TONES WITH A PINK OR REDDISH UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as sheer cherry red and soft pink.

MEDIUM SKIN TONES WITH A YELLOW UNDERTONE OR OLIVE UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as amber, cinnamon, rose, golden tawny colors, and bronze.

MEDIUM SKIN TONES WITH A NEUTRAL UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as rose and rose-bronze.

MEDIUM SKIN TONES WITH A PINK OR REDDISH UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as sheer cherry, sheer raisin, and pink rose.

DARK AND DEEP DARK SKIN TONES WITH A YELLOW UNDERTONE:
Choose blush in colors such as deep ginger, bronze-brown, vivid orange-reds, and terra cotta.

DARK AND DEEP DARK SKIN TONES WITH A NEUTRAL UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as brick, deep red-bronze, and bright corals.

DARK AND DEEP DARK SKIN TONES WITH A REDDISH UNDERTONE: Choose blush in colors such as berry tones, raisin, deep red, red-brown, deep burgundy, and fuschia.

TIPS:
* If your blush color looks good on your lips, it will look great on your cheeks, and vice versa.

* The best blush color to counteract a sallow complexion and/or the appearance of illness is sheer cherry red. Sheer cherry red is like the color of blood, which is what rushes to the cheeks when you’re flushed. NOTE: Blush in a sheer cherry red color will add a fresh look to any complexion.
